Interim driving license is given to prospective drivers who have finished the NTSA Kenya Driving and have successfully passed the Driving test. The requirements are:- Be over eighteen years when requesting a motor vehicle driving license or sixteen years and above for a motorcycle license. You should have taken the Kenyan driving test examination administered by police officers to show you can drive a motor vehicle of a particular class. You should have a competence certificate You should have an international driving permit You should be physically fit to drive You should pay a fee for the driving license. When applying for an interim driving license in Kenya, you will have to incur a charge of Kshs 750.
Interim driving license can be applied through the Citizen Platform provided by the government. You will be required to pay a certain fee to facilitate the application for the Interim License. You will also be able to print the Interim License and be able to drive the Vehicle for a period of one year which is a probation period.

You will be able to drive the motor vehicle classes in the category that you trained for. The new smart DLs are now issued after you successfully complete your driving course. Interim driving license expires after 1 year and can be renewed even if you haven’t gotten the actual license.
