Ntsa New Number Plates. The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) in Kenya recently introduced new number plates that are set to replace the existing ones. The move is aimed at improving road safety and enhancing the efficiency of vehicle identification in the country. In this article, I  will discuss in detail the features of the new number plates, the benefits they offer, and the process of acquiring them using the NTSA Online Portal.

Ntsa New Number Plates – Features of the new number plates

The new number plates have several features that set them apart from the old ones. Firstly, they are made of high-quality material that is resistant to fading, corrosion, and tampering. The material is also reflective, which enhances visibility at night or in poor weather conditions. This feature is particularly important for enhancing road safety, as it allows other motorists and pedestrians to see the number plates clearly. Also, the Number pLates are more “Prettier” or “Good Looking” Than the previous old Number plates that Kenyans had complained that are “Ugly” and “Boxy”.These new set of Number plates will make your car look nicer.

Secondly, the new number plates have a security feature in the form of a hologram sticker. The sticker contains information about the vehicle and its owner, including the registration number, the make and model of the vehicle, and the name of the owner. The hologram is tamper-proof and can only be removed by destroying it. This feature helps to prevent fraud and illegal activities such as car theft and Number plate cloning.

Thirdly, the new number plates have a unique design that makes them easily recognizable. The Front plates  (Oblong) have a white Background (For the Front number plates )  with Black lettering, and the letters and numbers are embossed rather than printed. The embossing makes it difficult to alter or duplicate the number plates, which enhances security and reduces the risk of car theft and other related crimes. The Square back Number plates are Yellow background with Black lettering

Benefits of the new number plates

The introduction of the new number plates by the NTSA offers several benefits to vehicle owners and the general public. First, the plates enhance road safety by improving the visibility of vehicles on the road. The reflective material used to make the plates reflects light from other sources such as headlights, making it easier for other motorists and pedestrians to see the plates even in poor weather conditions.

Secondly, the new Ntsa number plates make it easier to identify vehicles and their owners. The hologram sticker contains information about the vehicle and its owner, which can be accessed by law enforcement agencies and other relevant authorities. This makes it easier to track down vehicles that are involved in accidents, crimes, or other illegal activities. This will significantly reduce cases of Car theft that have been rampant in the country.

Thirdly, the   Ntsa new number plates reduce the risk of car theft and cloning. The unique design and embossing of the plates make it difficult for criminals to alter or duplicate them. This reduces the risk of car theft and  Numbeer Plate cloning, which is a common problem in Kenya.

Fourthly, the Ntsa new number plates are more durable and long-lasting than the old ones. The high-quality material used to make the plates is resistant to fading, corrosion, and tampering. This means that the plates can remain in good condition for a longer period of time, reducing the need for frequent replacement repainting which made the previous number plates uglier and less good-looking.
